I introduced Multi Systemic Therapy (MST) to Cambridgeshire County Council in 2001. In 2007 we established MST for Child Abuse and Neglect as a 4-year clinical trial. Then developed a MST service for problematic sexual behaviour in 2011.
I am completing a doctorate at Anglia Ruskin University researching the implementation of MST in three sites in the UK. I am interested in how evidence-based practices succeed or fail at a service or organisational level and have learned from my own failures in implementation too. I participated in applied research with ARU using EU funding into anti social behaviour on journeys to and from school and also in a children's rights initiative. I am on the board of CSSL Limited which is delivering the social impact bond funded MST service in Essex with Social Finance (the first children's services SIB). I am also a very part time fellow at the Go-LAB at the Blavatnik School of Government at Oxford University.
In my day job I am the Business Development Director and joint CEO at Family Psychology Mutual, a staff owned social enterprise providing evidence based interventions for young people and their families. We spun out of Cambridgeshire County Council in 2017/18 and we now run services in Cambridgeshire, London and Bedfordshire with expanding work in Norfolk and Suffolk.
